Teaching in Nigerian schools requires competencies in pedagogy and content knowledge. While graduates of Nigerian universities seeking to convert to teaching have acquired content knowledge through their training, new entrants into teaching generally have little knowledge or understanding of competencies and the skills required to teach in Nigerian schools. This course introduces teaching as a lifelong learning enterprise and builds competencies for teaching in primary and secondary schools. It is designed for graduates or people who have worked in a school environment for at least 5 years.
Learners must already have tertiary qualifications as well as strong literacy and numeracy skills.
