Our Teaching Training Faculty has developed programs that will help teachers improve their delivery skills and to familiarize them with international best practice in learning and teaching.
Teaching skills:
Our teaching skills comprises the use of Information Technology, pedagogy in Literacy and Numeracy, 21st century teaching skills and life skill training for teachers/educators.
The training programs are designed to equip teachers with the relevant teaching pedagogy for today’s learners.
The Courses are:
1. Instructional Planning for Effective Delivery
The training will focus on curriculum structure and objectives and designed to build skills for planning and enabling learning.
2. Differential Learning
This is the ability to develop or design a classroom routine that is all-inclusive, deploying a variety of instructional strategies for ease of learning.
3. 21st Century teaching methodologies
4. Digital Skills
These are tools to enhance teaching outcomes and tools for effective delivery of content
5. Life skills
Training on Self Awareness, Emotional intelligence, Etiquette for teachers, Creativity and innovation etc.
6. Civic Education
The need for the emergence of new kinds of citizens, citizens who aren’t just informed, but are active and responsible, individuals who are able and willing to participate in public affairs has necessitated the need for teacher training in civic education. The courses are, civic duty, civic rights, patriotism, censorship, democracy & equality and Nigerian national symbols.
7. Digital Tools as a Teaching Resource to Enhance Learning
This is to facilitate the adoption of digital tools as a teaching and learning resource to enhance learning outcomes.
Learning Objectives
- Discover basic digital tools to aid blended teaching and learning
- Learn how digital storytelling enhances learning
- Learn how to mitigate the challenges of teaching and learning in a digital environment
7. The Making of a Creative Teacher
A creative teacher makes learning meaningful, realistic, and invigorating for the learner, thereby helping the learner remain motivated in the classroom.

- Gain an understanding of what creative teaching is and its importance
- Be able to identify the characteristics of a creative teacher
- Gain practical knowledge on how to develop their creative skills
